Daubner – More than a 100 years of success
was established in 1901 and ever since it has become one of the most prestigious and most well-known confectionaries of Buda. They are ridiculously popular, even after decades and decades; there are always long queues inside - and outside as well for that matter. They have a wide range of cakes, pastries and desserts for all tastes. There are classic desserts like Dobos cake and oroszkrém cake (Russian cream cake), there are light, fresh and healthy sweets like fruity cakes and they also have a brilliant selection of ice-creams. Of course the list goes on and on but don’t worry, whatever you happen to choose you will be more than satisfied.

Ruszwurm confectionery – Puritan, traditional and folksy
has been present in the Hungarian confectionery scene for more than 150 years. Their first confectionery was established by Ferenc Schwabl in 1827 in the Castle District. This little place is still running, offering traditional desserts for the lovers of sweets. The atmosphere of the Ruszwurm confectionery is rather folksy; the interior design is quite puritan. The counter for example was made before the World War, so it’s quite antique now. The sweets and desserts are very simple but they are all made from high-quality ingredients. Try the Szamos and the Esterházy cake, choose the famous Ruszwurm krémes or go for the pogácsa (scone) and don’t miss the strudels either!
