The maypole, a symbol of spring renewal and traditional courtship rituals, takes centre stage at this year’s Vörösmarty Spring 2026. Between 1 and 25 May, Vörösmarty tér will transform into one of Budapest’s most vibrant gathering spots through the revival of folk traditions. Visitors can look forward to nearly 60 programmes, including a dedicated proposal point, folk and industrial craft exhibitors, live music, dance performances, themed weekends, and a wide range of gastronomic experiences.
