The
Sakura celebration
is a traditional event at
ELTE Füvészkert
(“Botanical Garden” in English) connected to the blooming of Japanese
cherry trees
in April, and the traditional celebration of Japan, the Hanami. At this time, when the cherry trees blossom at Füvészkert, visitors follow the Japanese tradition and have picnics on blankets in the garden while admiring the blooming Sakura trees.
World-famous Italian, Turkish, and Portugese writers visit Budapest for this literary festival.
