It says a lot about Ida Nielsen’s qualities that in 2010, Prince invited the Danish singer/bassist to join his band, The New Power Generation, on tour until his death. She was also a member of another Prince team, 3rdeyegirl. In recent years, she has focused on his solo career: in 2018, she released Time 2 Stop Worrying (‘bout The Weird Stuff), which combines old-school funk with nu soul and hip-hop. Nielsen is not only a bass player with great technique, but also a composer and producer with her own band, the Funkbots.
