Budapest’s hub of contemporary art Ludwig Museum is celebrating its 30th birthday in 2019. The public collection of contemporary art collated by Peter and Irene Ludwig was a first for Hungary and the region which was then behind the Iron Curtain. In the past three decades, the Ludwig has hosted hundreds of exhibitions and thousands of cultural events, keeping the same focus along the way: bringing the Budapest audience closer to contemporary art and educating museumgoers in an exciting and innovative way.
The jubilee will see a celebratory exhibition and event series, dealing with the past, the present and the future of the museum. Visitors can expect film screenings, lectures, concerts and even a soon-to-be-published magazine for the occasion.
