This Saturday, journey to the Bükk hills and the Eger wine region for a full day of hiking and wine-tasting. Budapest Hikers were formed in 2015 with the aim of building a hiking community in Budapest, describing themselves as full of “friendly, international people”. Last year, the group teamed up with the Budapest Association for International Sports as well, who share their value of connecting people with nature.

Each month, Budapest Hikers organise walks in and around Budapest, attracting up to 100 participants. Their November Hike & Wine excursion will take trekkers to the top of Nagy-Eged Hill, overlooking historic Eger. The hike is rated as intermediate, spanning 16km over 4.5 hours. Post-hike, everyone is invited to visit a local wine cellar and try some some of the assembled tipples.

Tickets for the event are still available, but will be capped at 32 attendees, so be quick. Tickets begin at 10,500 forints, and lunch can be added for an additional 1,000 forints. Wine is purchased separately.

The tour will leave Budapest at 9am and should arrive back in the city by 7pm.
