This is the eighth year that the Diplomatic Fair, organised by the Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest in collaboration with InterContinental Budapest, is being held in Budapest. On 2 December, 52 countries will be represented by their respective embassies, with delicious international delicacies in the food corner, plus dance and music on stage, even bagpipers from Scotland. There are large and small raffles and a children's corner to entertain the little ones. The British Embassy table with be run by the speciality grocery store, The British Pantry, helped by the Ambassador himself, a proud Scot clad in his kilt. Besides all the fun, the event also raises funds for Hungarian charities. All proceeds will go towards specific projects that benefit sick, disabled, vulnerable or disadvantaged children, such as the Pető Institute or SOFI, the Special Education and Development Institute.
