From 23 to 27 June, the Africa Soundwave Festival takes over Babel Kert with a programme that spans everything from West African musical traditions to afrobeat, afro-pop and contemporary electronic sounds. The lineup includes Ogun Afrobeat, known for blending afrobeat with jazz and funk influences, as well as Senegalese ensemble Ibrahima Cissokho & Mandingue Foly. Audiences can also look forward to the virtuosic balafon performances of Kanazoé Orchestra, the Guinean-inspired sounds of Nakany Kanté, and a closing performance by Morgane Ji, who brings together afro-rock and electronic music influences.
