What makes Mythos Resort stand out is its combination of premium hospitality and a peaceful countryside setting. Spread across 15 hectares just a short drive from Budapest, it offers a chance to slow down and escape the pace of everyday life. Everything needed for a relaxing stay is available on-site, while the surrounding area is ideal for hiking, cycling and horse riding.
Blending modern luxury with local traditions
The creation of Mythos Resort is the result of more than two decades of planning and dedicated work. Drawing inspiration from Hungary's equestrian heritage, the resort incorporates horse-related traditions into both its venues and experiences. It takes its name from Mythos, a legendary award-winning horse, while its event spaces are named after historic carriage types. The property is also home to a museum dedicated to Hungarian equestrian culture and the history of carriage driving.

The resort's distinctive atmosphere and deep respect for tradition have shaped a unique concept, as interior designer Zoltán Varró explained:
The world of Mythos Resort was shaped by two guiding ideas: a respect for nature and tradition, and the aristocratic elegance of equestrian culture. The result is a romantic village inspired by Hungarian heritage, paired with a contemporary forest lodge setting - a place where guests can truly leave everyday life behind.

Varró Zoltán explained that while many elements of traditional Hungarian folk architecture appear throughout the resort's communal spaces and accommodations, the concept also draws inspiration from the refined elegance of the English countryside. The Windsor Bar is perhaps the most striking example of this influence, although every decorative detail has its own story and contributes to the resort's carefully balanced design.

Whether it's a romantic cabin or a luxury villa, there's a stay for every occasion
The accommodations at Mythos Resort have been designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding natural landscape, while offering elegant interiors and all the comforts of a modern premium retreat.

The Forest Lodge treehouses are tucked away among the trees, offering a fairytale-like retreat in the heart of nature. Despite their secluded setting, they come with all the comforts of a luxury stay, with some featuring a private sauna, jacuzzi and in-room bathtub. Each unit also includes a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy terrace. They are an excellent choice for families, with children likely to love the loft hideaway, while couples will also find them ideal for a peaceful getaway.

The lakeside villas come in several layouts, including options with two bedrooms, making them well suited to larger families or couples travelling together. Spacious living areas and private terraces with direct views over the lake add to their appeal. Approaching from the entrance, guests are welcomed by a charming village-like street reminiscent of an open-air heritage museum, while the interiors reveal a contemporary yet cosy atmosphere. Warm colours, soft furnishings and panoramic lake views create a setting that invites guests to slow down and stay a little longer.

The Mythos Luxury Residence is an exclusive standalone property featuring eight elegant double rooms. Designed for larger groups, it offers a unique stay with lake views, a garden complete with a pool and jacuzzi, bespoke interior design elements and the option of a private chef service. Located near the resort's farmyard area, the five-bedroom Mythos Manor accommodates up to ten guests in double rooms. Surrounded by stables, a pony-riding area and the atmosphere of a traditional rural courtyard, it provides a peaceful countryside setting that works equally well for private gatherings and business retreats.

All accommodation types are well suited to a variety of stays, whether it's a romantic getaway for two, a family holiday, a trip with friends, or a private or corporate event. One of the resort's greatest strengths is its expansive setting: guests can enjoy complete seclusion if they wish, while a range of communal spaces also provide opportunities to gather, unwind and connect.
From farm-inspired dishes to cocktails at the bar
At Mythos Resort, Hungarian culinary traditions meet international flavours, with an emphasis on quality ingredients, seasonal produce and memorable dining experiences. Guests can start the day with a premium breakfast built around locally sourced ingredients, while multi-course dinner menus and an à la carte selection are also available.

The resort's culinary offering centres around two venues: Coach Bistro and Windsor Bar. Located next to the reception in the main building, Coach Bistro reimagines contemporary Hungarian bistro cuisine while incorporating Mediterranean influences through light, seasonal dishes. The menu features options ranging from salmon avocado toast and gourmet burgers, including the signature Mythos Burger, to truffle egg dumplings and pappardelle served with either Bolognese or wild mushroom sauce. To accompany a glass of wine, guests can opt for focaccia with house-made dips or hermelín, a marinated Camembert-style cheese.

The Windsor Bar serves as the resort's hub for evening drinks and private events, combining British elegance with an atmosphere of aristocratic refinement. Alongside a carefully curated drinks menu, guests can choose from an impressive selection of sparkling beverages. During our visit, we also had the chance to try the alcohol-free version of the bar's signature Mythos cocktail.

The name Windsor Bar is no coincidence. It pays tribute to the long-standing connection between British royalty and Hungarian carriage driving, a relationship reflected in a book displayed at the entrance, for which Prince Philip wrote the foreword. The bar's name serves as a nod to this shared heritage.

Something for every generation in Domonyvölgy
One of Mythos Resort's greatest strengths is its diverse range of activities, offering something for every age group and enough experiences to fill several days. Whether guests are looking for relaxation, adventure or family-friendly fun, there is little chance of running out of things to do.

One of our favourite parts of the resort was the panoramic wellness area, centred around a bathing lake and spa house designed for both physical and mental rejuvenation. Guests can choose from a range of wellness facilities, including an infrared sauna, Finnish sauna, steam cabin and various massage treatments. Even the indoor relaxation area has been thoughtfully designed to maintain a connection with nature, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake and surrounding landscape. Outside, the sun terrace provides a peaceful setting where the sounds of birdsong and gently flowing water complete the experience.

Given the site's heritage, equestrian experiences remain a defining part of the resort's identity. The surrounding area offers a variety of horse-related activities, from guided riding tours to pony rides for younger visitors. Daily horse shows also provide an opportunity to learn more about the traditions of Hungarian horsemen and witness their remarkable skills firsthand. During our visit, we were amazed by the performances - and guests can enjoy these impressive displays every day.

Families are particularly well catered for at Mythos Resort, with plenty of activities designed to keep younger guests entertained while parents relax in the wellness area or enjoy a drink on the terrace. A favourite among children is the farmyard, where they can meet domestic animals, take part in activities led by animators and enjoy horse-riding experiences. The expansive grounds also include a playground, and a new indoor play centre inspired by the resort's equestrian theme is set to open soon.

From corporate events to dream weddings
Mythos Resort has become one of the region's leading event destinations, offering a versatile setting for weddings, corporate gatherings, conferences and exclusive private celebrations. With venues suitable for anywhere between 30 and 3,000 guests, as well as on-site accommodation, it is equally suited to multi-day events. One of its standout spaces is the Cziráki Hall, a venue with the atmosphere of a traditional Hungarian inn that can host more than 100 guests. Exposed wooden beams, abundant natural light and countryside-inspired décor create a warm and welcoming setting, while an adjoining terrace with a traditional oven adds to its charm. During events, the oven can even be used to prepare freshly baked Hungarian flatbreads, offering guests a memorable taste of local tradition.

For those seeking a more contemporary setting, the Landauer Hall offers a spacious, light-filled interior with sweeping views over the valley. Thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows, the surrounding landscape becomes part of the event itself, while the nearby chapel adds a fairytale-like touch to the experience. The 460-square-metre, air-conditioned venue balances elegance and warmth through its use of natural materials, soft colour palettes and floral accents. An impressive bar area further enhances the space, making it an ideal backdrop for memorable celebrations and events.

The resort also offers a range of flexible event spaces. Located on the upper floor of the main building, the Károlyi Hall is well suited to conferences, while several smaller meeting rooms can accommodate breakout sessions and workshops. One of these spaces can even be transformed into a billiards room. For larger-scale occasions, the impressive riding arena also serves as a unique venue for events.

Set against a beautiful natural backdrop and supported by excellent infrastructure, Mythos Resort provides an ideal setting for special occasions of all kinds. A dedicated events team assists with every stage of planning and execution, from refined catering and technical solutions to décor, ensuring that guests can focus on enjoying the experience while the details are taken care of.

Mythos Resort is a truly distinctive destination, combining five-star comfort with wellness experiences, quality dining and the tranquillity of a nature-filled setting. Just over half an hour from Budapest, it offers an opportunity to slow down, recharge and enjoy a level of peace and relaxation that can often feel out of reach in city life.
