After months of anticipation, Time Out Market Budapest has finally revealed its opening date: on 20 September 2025, the historic Corvin Palace on Blaha Lujza Square will once again come to life – this time as a buzzing hub for food, drinks and culture.

This will be the very first Time Out Market in Central and Eastern Europe, following the footsteps of Lisbon, New York and Dubai. The concept is simple: gather the very best of the city under one roof – from Michelin-starred chefs and much-loved local gems to exciting cultural programmes and lively bars. With 11 kitchens, three bars, five event spaces and 540 seats, it’s set to become one of Budapest’s most exciting new destinations.

A taste of Budapest under one roof

The final line-up is now complete, bringing together some of the most exciting names from Budapest’s food scene. Among the newcomers is M'EAT by Jenő Rácz, where premium Hungarian antipasti meet the laid-back atmosphere of Spanish tapas and Portuguese petiscos. Think artisanal cold cuts, cheeses and creative twists like foie gras with homemade jam.

Next on the line-up is LIRA, created by the Essência team, offering a more relaxed take on their Michelin-starred flair. Here, chefs Tiago Sabarigo and Miguel Diniz will serve flavourful dishes that blend elegance with ease – from beef tartar with oyster emulsion to homemade tagliatelle with mussels, rounded off by almond cake with gorgonzola ice cream.

For something more nostalgic, Hai Nam Pho returns to its VIII district roots with steaming bowls of Northern Vietnamese pho, recipes refined by the Vo Son family over decades.

And it's not just about food: Absolut is opening its own dedicated bar, bringing expertly mixed cocktails and plenty of creative energy to the Market floor.

These join an already exciting line-up, from Anyukám Mondta's Italian comfort food, Pingrumba's Middle Eastern specialities, 101 Bistro's Taiwanese bites, Szaletly's contemporary Hungarian cuisine, CANTEEN by István Pesti, Casa Christa from Lake Balaton, Bigfish, Tuning Burger, and drinks from Dreher Tanksör and the Wines of Hungary Bar.

More than food

The Market isn’t just a place to eat and drink. A full cultural programme is also in store: piano evenings on Mondays, jazz concerts on Tuesdays and Saturdays, intimate gigs curated by Banana Records on Wednesdays and Fridays, and DJ sets on Thursdays. Sundays will be family days, while once a month, a major concert will take over the space. Add in wine tastings, cocktail workshops and craft beer showcases, and you’ve got a venue that celebrates the best of Budapest on every level.

A new chapter for Corvin Palace

It all unfolds inside Corvin Palace, the grand department store built in 1926, which has now been restored to its former glory. With Time Out Market taking over its first floor, the building is set to reclaim its place at the heart of Budapest life.

Time Out Market Budapest will bring a new culinary and cultural experience to the city, says Viktor Balogh, owner of Time Out Market Budapest. We wanted to celebrate Budapest’s incredible talents – from award-winning chefs to local gems – and present them all in one unique, accessible place.
