New York Café on Grand Boulevard is often called the most beautiful in the world. There’s a queue outside year-round, but it’s worth the wait for a glimpse inside. And from March, you’ll have even more time to take it all in – the café will stay open late four nights a week.

When the New York Café first opened 130 years ago, writer Ferenc Molnár supposedly wished it would never close – so much so that he threw its keys into the Danube. A tiny statue nearby even marks this legendary moment. Now, the café is embracing its roots as a creative hub for artists and writers by keeping its doors open past midnight from Thursday to Sunday, starting in March.

During these late-night hours, you are invited to soak in the café's atmosphere in a quieter, more relaxed setting than during the bustling daytime.

You can elevate the experience with fine drinks, coffee, bite-sized treats, and desserts, all while enjoying live music from a bar pianist. Adding to the magical nighttime atmosphere, the café will be illuminated in a way that highlights its breathtaking beauty. Plus, El Asmodáj, the torch-bearing demon from the façade, makes a life-sized appearance – perfect for a unique photo opportunity! And for those looking to snap the ultimate Instagram shot, several dedicated selfie spots will be set up throughout the café.
