If you're in the mood for a burger, Baltazár has you covered. From the classic Baltazár Burger to the crispy chicken and vegetarian options, there's a burger for everyone. You can even customise your burger with extras like double meat patties and the secret homemade sauce.
For lighter bites, try seasonal dishes like beetroot hummus with grilled pita, crispy prawns, or Buffalo chicken wings. A standout dish is the Transylvanian Mititei (or miccs), a rustic grilled meat dish made with a blend of beef, lamb, and pork, served with homemade Ajvar and flatbread.
Of course, no visit to Baltazár would be complete without trying some Hungarian classics. The menu features chicken broth, beef goulash, catfish stew with dill and cottage cheese dumplings, and a hearty chicken paprikash with buttered noodles and a thick, collagen-rich gravy topped with grilled jalapeño.
To finish your meal on a sweet note, indulge in a chestnut mousse with a crunchy chocolate layer, Amarena meringue, and cherry sorbet; a warm apple pie with hazelnut sorbet (vegan and gluten-free); or a decadent chocolate brownie with butterscotch sauce, vanilla ice cream, and crunchy walnuts. And don't forget to try the seasonal Zuki ice creams.
Purity, the award-winning cocktail
Baltazár's award-winning cocktail, the Purity, is a must-try. Created by bartender Patrik Sztankovics, this refreshing drink won first place in the Finlandia Vodka Cup and was recently showcased at the Athens Bar Show. The Purity combines Finlandia vodka, carbonated lemon water, and litchi liqueur for a unique and delicious flavour.
In addition to the Purity, Baltazár offers a wide range of classic and signature cocktails, from the Baltazár Negroni to the Lychee Cosmopolitan and A Day in Hungary. As the weather turns colder, warm up with a cosy cocktail or grog (warm alcoholic drink, often made with rum, water, and citrus) in the lobby or grab a mulled wine to enjoy on a winter stroll. When it comes to wine, Baltazár showcases the best of Hungarian viticulture, with a focus on red wines during the winter months. Sparkling wine and champagne are also popular choices.
Holiday delights
Baltazár offers breakfast daily from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, serving up classics like Croque Madame, Eggs Benedict,and ham and eggs, as well as healthier options like granola, avocado toast, and seasonal fruit platters.
As November draws to a close, Baltazár still celebrates St Martin's Day with goose dishes. From December 1st, the festive menu takes centre stage, offering a range of delicious seasonal dishes. Enjoy Asian-inspired flavours like coconut pumpkin cream soup with Josper-fried prawns or pumpkin risotto with grilled goat cheese. Indulge in the rich duck liver pâté served with homemade brioche and apple chutney or savour the tender rosé duck breast with roasted Brussels sprouts, Jerusalem artichoke puree, and sour cherry sauce. For seafood lovers, there's salmon steak with grilled beetroot, pumpkin, and almond crisps, while game enthusiasts can enjoy venison spine with hazelnut noodles and wild mushroom sauce. And for a festive dessert, the rum chestnut puree with Amarena, homemade whipped cream, and crunchy chocolate is a delightful choice.
Ring in the New Year with a special New Year's Eve menu featuring beetroot salmon, seafood risotto, tenderloin steak, sauerkraut velouté, and tomato lentil soup for vegetarians. For dessert, enjoy a classic plum pie with cinnamon ice cream. This festive menu will be available throughout January.
