GRAMMY-nominated American artist ZHU is heading to Budapest, ready to captivate the crowd with his sleek synth melodies, billowing basslines, and irresistible hooks. On November 16th, get ready to dance the night away to tracks that are both sexy and sinister. While many know ZHU as a producer and DJ, he's much more than that—he's a singer, performer, instrumentalist, songwriter, and filmmaker. With his ambitious new album and film, GRACE, he's about to showcase his talents in ways you haven't seen yet.
The dual projects take listeners on a carefully crafted journey from darkness to light, tension to release, and uncertainty to peace. While we'll have to wait a bit longer for the film (coming later this autumn), the album, which is the clearest manifestation of ZHU's multifaceted artistic state of mind, is already out, so you can expect plenty of banging new tracks when he hits downtown Akvárium Klub. It's also worth staying tuned for the accompanying film, which fully captures GRACE's breathtaking audio-visual spectacle, with the album doubling as the its soundtrack.
ZHU first made his presence known to the world with his 2014 single, 'Faded', which was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2015 Grammy Awards. He stamped his spot with his genre-blurring 2016 debut, GENERATIONWHY. He only continued to evolve with subsequent projects like RINGOSDESERT (2018), DREAMLAND 2021 (2021), Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1) (2022) and DaysBefore Grace EP (2023), a prologue to Grace.
Upon the release of GRACE, ZHU is reflecting on his career and he's gearing up for new boundaries to push. Far from a standard dance record or a collection of singles, ZHU intends GRACE to be listened to from beginning to end, as he tells a story that's surely worth watching.
