Condé Nast Traveller's US and UK editions have consistently praised Budapest, and now, UK readers have voted the Hungarian capital among the best and friendliest destinations in Europe.

While previous years saw a combined poll for US and UK readers, this year's UK-specific poll gave greater emphasis to European destinations. Categories included hotels, islands, cities, and countries, with subcategories within each.

Budapest ranked second among the friendliest European cities, with Stockholm topping the list. The Hungarian capital came sixth overall, in the list of the best European cities, overtaken only by Valencia, Stockholm, Vienna, Berlin, and Milan. Budapest's allure lies in its numerous spas and iconic landmarks like the Chain Bridge and Buda Castle.
