As recently spotted by the Budapest Business Journal, Budapest has snatched the crown for the best spot for combining work and vacation (aka 'workcation'). So, if you're looking for an incredible city to make the most out of your hybrid or remote work experience, the Hungarian capital is the place to be. The ranking comes from a survey by the International Workplace Group, the world's leading workspace provider, helping 8 million people across six continents work more flexibly and productively.
The results are based on in-house research and a survey of 1,000 hybrid office workers worldwide. The IWG report compared 30 cities, rating them on a scale of 1 to 10 across categories like climate, culture, accommodation, transport, food, cost of a coffee, happiness, broadband speed, sustainability, and availability of flexible workspaces.
Budapest topped this year's list, beating cities like Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, Lisbon, and New York. It scored impressively high in accommodation (9.5/10), transport (9.5/10), sustainability (8.5/10) and broadband speed (8/10).
The Hungarian capital is 'famed for its classical architecture, attracting some 12 million international tourists per year ... [and] boasts over 200 museums and galleries, vibrant neighborhoods, and ample green spaces, making it an ideal choice for digital nomads,' - the report highlights.
