Free concerts on Rákóczi tér

Discover the RákócziSokk Festival, celebrating this diverse and up-and-coming area in the heart of Budapest's 8th district. On June 14th and 15th, eight concerts will pop up, which you can enjoy free of charge. In between them, gypsy music will fill the square.

Wizards of Scandinavia – Tap Takeover at Hopaholic

Scandinavian craft beer is pretty darn good. That's a fact. And between June 5th and 16th, there's no need to travel all the way to the Nordic region to try it. Instead, you can head to the party district's beloved craft beer bar Hopaholic. Try brews by Norwegian Salikatt, Danish WarPigs, or Swedish Elmeleven, among others.

Night of Movement

If you are up for a special and active night, head to Heroes' Square on June 14th. This special place will be the main location of the Night of Movement, meaning you can do Zumba or join a rollerblade disco surrounded by Hungarian kings. Between 8 pm and 2 am, you'll be showered with fun workout sessions and activities in and around City Park: try yoga, dancing, cycling, playing badminton, running, or SUP – all free of charge. No need to register, just show up at Heroes' Square and start warming up.

Sleaze Pride Indie Party

Joining the colourful events of Budapest Pride, 8th district locale Aurora is about to host a new party series. And you can be among the first to test it: join Sleaze, an indie-dance, disco, new wave party on June 14th (starting at 8 pm). The guest star will be Neon Leon, an international artist and producer from New York City. His music is a mix of rock, pop, funk, and hip-hop; but his fans love him for his endless energy and charm.

Morning Yoga on the Top of the Tunnel

Start your Saturday with a morning flow at a very special location; on top of Budapest's iconic landmark, the Tunnel! Here, you can salute the sun and give your body a good stretch while admiring the Chain Bridge, the Danube, and the Gresham Palace. Roll out your mat (bring your own or message the teacher if you'd rent one) and enjoy a 70-minute session, where all levels are welcome.

Szimpla Craft Fair

On June 15th, local designers' beauty products, home furnishings, gifts, delicacies and many other goodies will fill the courtyard of Szimpla Kert. The 'Kraft' Craft Fair is a perfect opportunity to see Budapest's most famous ruin bar from a different perspective.

Henri Gonzo concert at the PONTOON

If you are up for going local for a night, mark your calendar and head to Pontoon! To the glee of city dwellers, this riverside hangout recently reopened for the season and is ready to amaze with stunning views of the Buda Castle and Chain Bridge, wine spritzers, great vibes, and hip concerts. On June 15th, for instance, you can get to know the multi-instrumentalist Caribbean-Hungarian musician Henri Gonzo! He'll perform his latest compositions and reworked personal favourites, accompanied by guitar and kick drum.

 Historical Tales with Christian Löffler, Parra For Cuva, Thylacine

On June 15th, join a party at a World Heritage site: the upcoming Historical Tale party will invade Buda Castle's Lion Courtyard. Electro-pop tunes will be played by Christian Löffler, Parra For Cuva, and Thylacine – some of them presenting their new albums.

Brunch at Cinnamon

Be among the first to taste the new brunch menu of this local favourite breakfast spot. Cinnamon, tucked away on a little street on the Buda side near Batthyány tér, will spoil you with an array of delicious and beautiful treats from smoothie bowls and french toast to 'Egg in Purgatory' and breakfast burrito. No need to make a reservation, it's on a first come first served basis.

Design Fairs

Not one but two design fairs are popping up in town this Sunday! For a smaller-scale and more laid-back market, head to Buda'sEste11 and browse the local gems at SHUK SHUK with a lemonade in hand and DJ music in the background! If you're in the mood for a bigger market, Várkert Bazár (at the foot of Buda Castle) will be the place to be, where WAMP pops up in the stunning Neo-Renaissance garden. Both events are free to enter.

National Beatles Meet-up

Here comes the National Beatles Festival, a day that's all about the brilliant music of the iconic British band. Gates open at 5 pm at the outdoor concert venue Kobuci Kert, kicking off the evening with Uncle Parrot Lonely Heart Club Band's concert. Then a chat will take place about Paul McCartney' lost-and-found guitar, before another round of concerts takes over the stage, this time by the tribute band The Bits.

 Coldplay concert

Coldplay comes to Hungary, and you can see them perform live not only once, but three times (16, 18, 19 June)! The tour for the 2021 album Music of the Spheres has been running since March 2022 and has received almost unanimously good reviews, so expect a remarkable return in the Puskás Arena.
