The long-term renovation of the M3 metro has reached a new phase, with three more stations to reopen to passengers in May. The reconstruction at Kálvin tér, Corvin-negyed and Semmelweis Klinikák stations is nearing completion.
In the long-running saga of the renovation of Budapest’s
blue M3 metro line, including its stations, three in the section between the
south of the city and the centre are near ready. The mechanical and power-supply
systems are installed at Kálvin tér, Corvin-negyed and Semmelweis Klinikák, and
tests of the heat and smoke extraction systems are ongoing.
The official
inspection at Semmelweis Klinikák has already taken place, with Corvin-negyed due
in a few days.
The reconstruction of the track tunnel between focal Deák Ferenc tér and Nagyvárad tér has also been completed, and the interior design of the stations is underway. Photos of the works are taken on the Facebook page of Budapest mayor Gergely Karácsony:
