Friday, 22 July

Music Film Week
Over the course of a week at the Cinema MOM, films featuring music of the BeatlesPink FloydQueen and others are being screened in English. On Friday, it’s the turn of Depeche Mode, and the Spirits in the Forest concert film at the Berlin Waldbühne, the last stop of a huge 115-concert tour. Anton Corbijn, who has been working with the band as a music video director since 1986, has created a documentary around the performance, focusing on the band and their fans. The screening starts at 8pm. More details

Moderat
A trio of comprised of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary from Modeselektor, and Sascha Ring from Apparat, Germany’s electronica supergroup Moderat have a serious cult following, their tunes like poems put to music. After a four-year hiatus, Moderat have been active once more, producing their fourth major albumMORE D4TA, released in May, two months before their concert at Budapest Park on 22 July. Saturday, 23 July

Budapest Pride
From early Saturday afternoon, the Budapest Pride parade brightens up the streets and squares of the Hungarian capital as the procession leads down along the riverfront to Szabadság tér. DJs and all kinds of performers then kick the night into gear at a Rainbow Party at Budapest Park from 10pm. More details

Sun & Soda 2022: Matador & Recondite
The Sun & Soda daytime party series restarts for the summer, conjuring up the world of beaches and tropical raves at the Akvárium Klub in the heart of town. On Saturday afternoon, Irish DJ Matador mixes tunes, followed by German techno producer Recondite. More details

Night SUP through Budapest
For two nights this summer, on 23 July and 6 August, you can glide down from the Római embankment past the illuminated landmarks of Budapest to Kopaszi-gát. The city offers a special experience from the water at night, when there is no more boat traffic and the Danube is quiet, but the nightlife on the riverbank is buzzing. The 15-km tour takes about three hours, and you can start with your own SUP or rent a board. More details

Sunday, 24 July

Guided tour of the Franz Liszt Music Academy
A guided tour of this comprehensively renovated Art Nouveau landmark is given in English, followed by a mini concert performed by a student at this world-renowned conservatoire first set up by Hungary’s best-known composer. The hour-long tour touches on the history of the institution and its architectural features. 2.30pm-3.30pm. More details

C’mon C’mon
Joaquin Phoenix stars in this feel-good movie about a radio journalist who has to take care of his nephew in LA while trying to hold down his job in Detroit. Woody Norman received a BAFTA nomination for his role as the boy, who learns more about his mother than he bargained for. Showing in English at the Kino Café from 4pm. More details
