The city’s Cogwheel Railway is the third of its kind in Europe, having set off on its first journey on 24 June 1874. For a full history of how the Cogwheel came to be, see here.
This Friday afternoon, vintage trains will be chugging between the two ends of the line, Városmajor and Széchenyi-hegy, where it links up with the Children’s Railway.
From Városmajor, historic trains depart at 2.08pm, 3.28pm and 4.48pm. From Széchenyi-hegy, they leave at 2.47pm, 4.07pm and 5.27pm. Standard transport tickets and passes will be valid.
