Partly following the popular tram 2 line from Jászai Mari tér, past Parliament and along the grandiose sweep of Budapest’s riverside sights, a new tram line 2B will then trundle on to serve the south Pest districts of Pesterzsébet and Pacsirtatelep. The route is expected to open from this August.
Budapest’s most scenic tram, the number 2 that skirts the Pest embankment of the Danube, is to gain a running mate, the 2B, scheduled to head down to south Pest. The branch line follows the successful introduction of the 2M service that runs through more distant stretches of Ferencváros after gliding past picturesque cityscape in town.
