Thanks to modern digitalisation, the app for Budapest Transport (BKK), the former FUTÁR, has been upgraded with a number of handy features. In a new easy-to-use application, BudapestGO, passengers can plan routes, buy tickets or passes and get up-to-date about the latest traffic news.
The new app is not just an average trip planner – see the list of functions below:
- Buy tickets & monthly passes and digital single tickets
With the new app, you can buy a single ticket or a monthly pass with only a few clicks. Digital products include standard tickets, and from March, 30- and 90-minute time-based ones will also be available.
- Long distance tickets & passes to almost anywhere in Hungary
Purchase options include not only local busses, trams and Budapest metro
lines but also long-distance Volán busses going to smaller provincial towns
across Hungary.
The app also allows you to buy tickets and passes for local transport in every Hungarian provincial place. Thanks to BudapestGO, no need to download additional apps or search for
ticket machines when outside Budapest.
- Automatic monthly pass renewal
In the future, you will be able to save time queuing for a Budapest pass or going to a vending machine. BudapestGO gives BKK customers the opportunity to automatically purchase their passes every month, with a subscription. Of course, this can also be stopped at any time with a click.
- Easy-to-use, faster travel planning
The application
makes it more convenient to use timetables and provides a clearer travel
planning platform. Vehicles can be switched on and off on the map by touching a
button. You can also choose filters to select a route with fewer transfers or walks.
Also, it’s possible to set up your own preferred locations, plan the fastest route, and manage saved addresses more easily.
The popular BKK Info app is also merging into BudapestGO and with that, it will be able to indicate the current traffic situation on the planned route each time.
- Main screen shows purchased tickets and passes
Ticketing also becomes very easy. Using the widget function, the purchased ticket can be displayed on the main screen of the phone, so it can be accessed, validated or presented with one click. BudapestGO remembers everything, for example, it reminds you of the deadline two days before the expiration of your monthly pass. The push notifications can be customised – you can even set a regular message to indicate only the delays.
BudapestGO already has lots of new features but it may be expanded
with additional options such as suburban transport,
bicycle, scooter and taxi services, new ticket types and details of activities in town.
The BudapestGO app is available on every platform and free to download for both Android and IOS. Users already having the former transport app FUTÁR on their smartphones will only need to update it and it will be automatically downloaded.
