This weekend, 18 and 19 September, the lower section of the Pest embankment between Eötvös tér and Közraktár utca will be closed off to traffic. Joggers, strollers and cyclists can take over this part of the Danube riverbank for one last time this summer!

In line with many of Budapest’s recent car-free initiatives, as well as European Mobility Week, this weekend the embankment between Eötvös tér and Közraktár utca will be given over to joggers, strollers and cyclists.

The initiative follows several similar ones on different sections of the riverbank. In addition, various infrastructural developments are taking place, such as new pipelines for drinking water between Kossuth Lajos tér and Margaret Bridge, and on the three-kilometre section between Kossuth Lajos tér and Március 15 tér.
