From tomorrow, Friday June 18, until 15 August, a recreational space will line the lower embankment between Parliament and the Chain Bridge, right in the centre of Budapest.
Reconstruction of the lower Pest embankment between Margaret Bridge and Parliament started this month, and renovation of the Chain Bridge has just entered a new phase, the historic crossing now blocked off to all traffic.
Now, partly organised by urban activists VALYO, Rakpart 2021 will see a number of initiatives along the Danube, including the two-month transformation of the embankment into a family-friendly recreation zone between Parliament and the Chain Bridge.
