From today, 1 September, the H7 HÉV suburban service will be running again, the whole line now reopened between Boráros tér and Csepel island.

After its closure due to the rebuilding of Kvassay Bridge between the southern edge of Pest and the northern tip of Csepel island, the HÉV suburban rail line has reopened in full. This means that passengers can travel from Boráros tér, a major stop on the 4/6 tram line along the Nagykörút, to the centre of this former industrial zone, in 15 minutes.

As a special bonus, for the month of September, cyclists will be able to transport their bikes free of charge on the HÉV line.

The development also ties in with a raft of openings and improvements of the transport infrastructure in this relatively neglected area of town. Also in the pipeline is a new bridge between Buda and Csepel.
