Antipasti bar, wine shop and delicatessen in one, Baccanale Budapest is the first regional outlet of a successful Italy-wide franchise based on the concept of easy dining. At Baccanales from Rome to Verona, guests can taste the fine-quality fare on display, freshly prepared and exquisitely presented. Such is Baccanale Budapest, right on Király utca, halfway between Deák tér and the Nagykörút.

It’s a typical story. An Italian comes to Budapest, falls in love and decides to return. In this case, however, it was the owner of the successful Baccanale franchise in Italy, who took a shine to our fair city and decided to set up one of the chain’s few outlets outside Italy.

This authentically designed, Italian antipasti and wine bar, aimed at both Hungarians and foreigners, also has a strong takeaway element, too. Here you’ll find high-quality olive oil, Italian beer and a selection of quality wines covering almost all Italian regions – not to mention the meats, cheeses and olives, among other products.

Friendly store manager Nikolett Hella slices the mature hams hair-thin and cuts the special Italian cheeses, to be accompanied by olives, pickled artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes.

The caprese salad is served with prosciutto, balsamic vinegar from Modena and creamy buffalo mozzarella, but you can also find speck ham, Neapolitan salami, spicy chorizo, matured bresaola beef ham and pecorino, plus asiago and primo sale tre colori cheeses.

A platter of these high-quality ingredients costs between 2,150 and 2,450 forints, the Norcino platter for two 4,990 forints.
