Taking place this weekend, the Hungarian Grand Prix is only allowing in spectators wearing a Covid immunity wristband, available at pick-up points in Budapest and Fót. No wristbands will be available at the site in Mogyoród. The race takes place at 3pm on Sunday, 1 August, with qualifying the day before, 3pm-4pm.

After being staged behind closed doors in 2020, the Hungarian Grand Prix is taking place this weekend under special conditions for spectators.

All ticket-holders must collect a Covid immunity wristband before they can enter the site. These are distributed at the Akvárium Klub on Erzsébet tér in the centre of Budapest, and at the Auchan car park in Fót, by the M3 motorway. These sites are open today (Friday) and Saturday until 8pm, and on Sunday from 6am-3pm.

To collect your wristband, you must present either your Hungarian Immunity Certificate or show proof of immunity through the EESZT application, plus your passport. International citizens must otherwise show a proof (in English or Hungarian) of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the opening time of the pick-point on that given day. There are special rules for those under 18 – see all details here.

Long queues are expected at certain times of the day, so it might be worth getting to the pick-up point early to arrange your wristband.

Many Grandstand tickets for Sunday’s race have sold out in sought-after categories but there are still some available in others. See here.

Those going to Mogyoród by public transport may take the HÉV suburban train from Örs Vezer tere to Kerepes (outside Budapest city limits – buy your ticket from the machine at the station), where free Volán shuttle buses run to the Hungaroring, gate 3.
