The Hungarian government has just announced a continuation of the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus epidemic, with the current rules to stay in place from Monday, 22 March, for another week at least.

Shops, many businesses, primary schools and nurseries will remain closed for at least another week from Monday, 22 March. Grocery stores, pharmacies and petrol stations will still be allowed to operate.

It is hoped that Hungary might be allowed to reopen once all registrants over 65 have been vaccinated, which is to say around 2.5 million people. Special regulations for Easter will be announced next week.
