Nagyrét, a three-hectare meadow in Hűvösvölgy, is being transformed into a contemporary recreation zone surrounded by woodland. A themed playground, outdoor gym and sports court should all open this spring.

A joint initiative by the Pilis Park Forest authorities and the Hungarian Hiking Association, the renovation of Nagyrét continues apace with the demolition of the old food kiosk here to make way for a sports court.

One of Buda’s most popular picnic and excursion destinations, providing easy access to Hárs Hill and the blue trail to Hűvösvölgy, will soon feature a themed playground and outdoor gym. An old exhibition building is being knocked down to make way for them.

Children will be able to romp around a play castle, a climbing frame and springy figures created in the shape of the local animals found here.
