As of Saturday, 1 August, Budapest’s popular Chairlift will be operating according to its usual daily schedule again. Reopened at the end of May, its timetable had been reduced through June and July.

Hungary’s first cable car, the Chairlift, has been transporting passengers up the side of János Hill and back since 1970, offering a fabulous panorama en route.

After quarantine closure, an overhaul of the operation, then part-time reopening, from Saturday, 1 August, this popular attraction will be opening as normal, every day between 10am-7pm. It only closes every other Monday for maintenance. The buffet will also be back in business.

On 29 August, the third annual Chairlift Night will be held, allowing visitors to head up by two-person gondola under the stars. A complete renovation of the facility is also in the pipeline.
