Four of Hungary’s most prestigious hotels, including the Budapest Marriott Hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center and The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest, have just announced a new initiative, donating 2.5 million forints’ worth of sheets, towels, slippers and soaps to two hospitals in Budapest and Kecskemét.

In a charitable move to help where it’s most needed, the Budapest Marriott Hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center, The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest and Four Points by Sheraton Kecskemét are donating more than a thousand items of bed linen and bathroom essentials to two hospitals. These include Budapest’s Szent László, the main one in the Hungarian capital dedicated to dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

“The coronavirus pandemic is not only an astonishing challenge for doctors and nurses, but also requires tremendous perseverance on their part,” says Arne Klehn, General Manager of the Budapest Marriott Hotel, speaking on behalf of Marriott Hotels in Hungary. “Through our support, we would like to thank all health-care workers for their sacrificial and exemplary work!”

Hertz Car Rental helped with delivering the items. In addition, for each order of Easter home delivery, the DNB Budapest restaurant donated 1,300 forints to the National Ambulance Service and are preparing 50 portions of chicken paprikash a week to health-care staff at the Szent László Hospital and the lung specialists at the National Korányi Institute of Pulmonology. Fabri Tours are helping with deliveries there.

Down in southern Hungary, Four Points by Sheraton Kecskemét distributed 100 servings of hot food over Easter to the needy through the Happy Karol Wojtyla Friendship Centre.
