The District II Council has just announced a new plan for Margit körút, the section of Budapest’s Grand Boulevard that runs into Buda from Margaret Bridge. Under the heading of the Margaret Quarter Cultural and Community District, a zone will be created to spark an urban revival here. The council is asking for input from experts and local residents.

According to the District II municipality, the primary aim of the redesign is to make once-vibrant Margit körút a revived cultural hub by involving innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, and a quality service and hospitality industry.

Architects, cultural and art experts, entrepreneurs and local residents are invited to write in their thoughts and suggestions to margitnegyed@masodikkerulet.hu in order to help develop a strategy for this welcome urban renewal.
