Award-winning We Love Budapest photographer Sándor Csudai is soon to have his own exhibition at the prestigious Capa Center. ‘Különös Budapest’, ‘Budapest Moods’, will be on display for a month from this Thursday, 15 October, at the Capa’s 8F Gallery. Admission free!

Sándor Csudai pounds the streets of Budapest relentlessly, capturing the city and everyone in it. This process only intensified during the pandemic. Csudai takes his photos from the point of view of an observer, by no means insensitively, finding stories in common spaces.

At the same time, the image of an unusual (the különös of the Hungarian title) yet charming city emerges from his pictures. Through Csudai, a whole new world appears. Heroes’ Square without people in the spring sunshine, masked pedestrians, shoppers, newly decorated graduates and those not used to standing in queues outside post offices.

2020 has been a year as strange as Csudai’s photos, a common experience they embody and reflect.
