From 5 September, a new series of free musical events, the Voices of Budapest, is kicking off around the Hungarian capital. Running every Saturday until 3 October, it features prestigious locations such as the Fine Arts Museum and the Várkert Bazár.

Beginning 5 September and repeating every Saturday, the Voices of Budapest project is bringing free mini-concerts to a number of different venues around the city. Some of these concerts have been composed exclusively for the occasion. The events are characterised by a diverse range of music, including klezmer on Madách tér, famous opera pieces at the Fine Arts Museum and chansons outside the Várkert Bazár Gloriett! The performances will take place twice a day at each location, all for free.

The Voices of Budapest has been put together by artistic director and opera singer Zsuzsanna Fülöp, with support granted by the City and the Budapest Festival & Tourism Centre. Other contributors include opera singers Tünde Frankó, Zsuzsanna Fülöp, Éva Szilágyi and Gyöngyvér Sudár, opera singers Tamás Busa, László Egri and András Káldi, singer Judit Klein, actor Attila Bardóczy, pianists Janka Turcsányi and Pál Mezei, violinist Csongor Veér and accordion player Péter Berec.
