Altogether 24 short films from 17 countries will be featured at next month’s Berlinale, considered one of the big three of European festivals alongside Cannes and Venice. For 2019, two Hungarian mini movies have been included in the selection, Flóra Anna Buda’s diploma work, Entropia, and Luca Tóth’s Hungarian-French production, Mr. Mare.
Flóra Anna Buda’s Entropia is a ten-minute short about three parallel universes, where three young women live very different lives. One day, a glitch in the system lets a fly trespass between their worlds, opening a door for the girls, who step out from their reality towards each other. Watch the trailer here.
In Luca Tóth’s Mr. Mare, the silhouette of a tiny little figure appears on the chest X-ray of a young man, its head forming a tumour on his side. Who is this thing and what changes will it bring once it emerges from this man’s body? Watch the trailer below.
