Low water levels in the Danube have unveiled a hidden tunnel under Margaret Bridge and the apparent remnants of the explosion that destroyed the crossing in 1944. Caused by persistently high temperatures and lack of rain, the river has been sinking, creating rare sights in Budapest and beyond. Still above the lowest-ever record of 51 centimetres in 2003, reduced water heights in the city have prompted people to venture towards the middle of the river, stepping on the rocks that have since appeared on the surface, making the waders appear as if they were walking on water. A collection of recently taken photos shows this unique phenomenon.
