Branching out from a curve along Buda’s lively Bartók Béla út, Gárdonyi Géza tér is the epicentre of several hangouts favoured by local creatives. One such place around this square is the B32 Gallery and Cultural Space, a multi-disciplinary destination housed inside a white-and-turquoise building.

Within, exhibition halls and an auditorium await, where 120 red velvet chairs are set up for visitors to enjoy drama adaptions presented mostly in Hungarian, acoustic shows and even evergreen classics on vinyl.

Upcoming performers include the Budapest Jazz Orchestra on 3 October and indie-folk band Petruska on 27 October. Meanwhile, in the gallery here, contemporary artists present their paintings and in December, the art of Russian-born Hungarian painter El Kazovsky is on show. At the Trezor gallery within the same building, works by Hungarian designers feature.

The B32 Gallery and Cultural Space also joins the annual Budapest Design Week taking place citywide between 5-19 October. On 13 October from 11am to 7pm, handmade merchandise is being showcased at the Autumn Premium Art Fair. Featured products include jewellery (by Klára Abaffy, Ágnes Bartha, Kriszta Kuti, Fanni Király, Noémi Gera and Kati Jermakov), flowery silk scarves by Rita Müller, fairy-tale graphics by Kati Szegedi and Kinga Rofusz, design ceramics by Zoltán Lubloy, abstract vases by Ágnes Smetana and leather bags by Judit Bráda.
