Throughout September and October, three Budapest-based Marriott-branded hotels will donate one euro to charity for every lunch and dinner served to guests. Deák St. Kitchen in The Ritz-Carlton, Peppers Mediterranean Grill in the Marriott Hotel, and Oléo Pazzo Mediterranean Bistro in the Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center are all part of the “You Eat, We Give” initiative aiming to raise 400,000 euros for youth charities across Europe in 2018. The money raised will provide vocational training and life-skills courses through SOS Children’s Villages’ Youth Programmes to help underprivileged young adults develop independent lives and careers.

The You Eat, We Give promotion is part of Marriott’s Europe-wide “World of Opportunity” initiative that aims to tackle youth unemployment by donating to partner charities. Since its launch in 2012, Marriott’s guests and visitors have helped raise more than 3 million euros in cash and in-kind donations, and Marriott employees have worked an extra 60,000 voluntary hours helping young people on the path to a career. Here in Budapest, anyone can help by indulging in a meal at the comfortably classy Deák St. Kitchen (pictured below), enjoying Italian-influenced specialties at Oléo Pazzo, or feasting at the riverfront Peppers! eatery.

Reiner Sachau, chief operations officer for Marriott International in Europe, commented: “Marriott has a long history of investing in programmes that help young people. It’s been amazing to see the results of our You Eat, We Give fundraising campaign so far, and we’re really proud of the commitment our hotels have shown in helping young people in Europe realise their full potential and open the doors to meaningful work. We’re excited to be able to empower our diners again to join us in achieving our goals.”
