Organized biannually, dunaPart involves independent dance and theater troupes in a four-day series of intriguing stage plays, progressive dance shows and contemporary circus productions across multiple locations. This year’s host venues include Budapest landmarks such as the riverfront Palace of Arts in south Pest and the historic Várkert Bazaar near Buda Castle. Several city theaters and cultural centers also welcome dunaPart acts for more radical performances.

On the opening day of the event, MU Theater (Budapest 1117, Kőrösy József utca 17) stages The Station, a progressive performance blending contemporary dance and animal movements. On November 30th, at Jurányi House community center in District II, you can see Parental Ctrl, a performance concert about Generation Y and their parents.

At Trafó, pulsating post-punk dance piece Eclipse shows on December 1st, and the following day, underground circus group Freak Fusion presents stunts as part of their Fighting Gravity performance. On the closing day of the event, dunaPart head to the Palace of Arts for the spectacular multidisciplinary Drip Canon – How’s it going, Heraclitus?, presented by the Artus Company.

Tickets to the shows are available at participating cultural establishments and at Interticket offices.
