Diners will be able to visit a huge hall in the Óbuda area housing five periodically changing food trucks, a farmers’ market, shops, and culinary events. Le Garage is another sign of the overwhelming popularity of street food in Budapest – and since this complex will be inside, customers won’t even have to worry about the weather when feasting on various handheld meals.

Street food continues to gain popularity in Budapest, further proven by the recent mid-winter opening of a food truck court managed by Élesztő. Now we have learned that a whole new plaza will be built in order to bring diverse foods and mobile dining under one roof. The country’s first street-food and gastro plaza will bear the name Le Garage, referring to the venue’s industrial environment.

The plaza will house 12 retail units, including restaurants, deli shops, cafés, and five food trucks that will change periodically, thus keeping the food selection fresh and diverse at all times. During the weekends, the organizers plan to host farmers’ markets, and there will be some culinary events held in the plaza, as well. However, we have to wait quite a bit for the opening – according to the plans, we can flock to the gastro complex, located next to Graphisoft Park, only after the summer of 2018.
