During Saturday’s I Bike Budapest event, many of the city’s roads were blocked off for auto traffic, and thousands of cyclists enjoyed a true festival feeling while roaming the empty streets together on two wheels. The rolling route let the bikers pass by spectacular sights such as the Liberty Bridge, the Parliament, the Chain Bridge, and the tunnel beneath the Buda Castle. I Bike Budapest is a regular event aiming to popularize cycling in the city, drawing attention to the growing need for better bike routes around town.

Following up on past years’ Critical Mass events, I Bike Budapest, a city cycling event for bike lovers, occured again during this past weekend. Despite less-than-perfect weather conditions, approximately 15,000 people dusted off their bikes to roam the streets of Budapest in a festive spirit. Besides popularizing cycling in the city, the event also aims to help people enjoy the beauty of Budapest, while touring around town on two wheels. Here we present I Bike Budapest pictures by two professional photographers at the event: Krisztián Bódis and Roland Pozsonyi.
