The Budapest Essentials Festival will shine on this summer

Filling many of the city’s landmark locales with distinctive concerts and DJ sets, the Budapest Essentials Festival is happening for the third time during June 2-5. We can now provide a short preview of what to expect during this this urban celebration highlighting many of Budapest’s most iconic settings as they host varied musical extravaganzas, along with presenting museum tours, sightseeing excursions, and culinary attractions.

For the past two years now, the Budapest Essentials Festival kicks off summertime in the Magyar metropolis by presenting diverse concerts and DJ sets by local and international musicians in various clubs and party venues of Budapest, along with unique musical events at many of the city’s landmark locations that are ordinarily inaccessible for cultural and entertainment events, with almost all of them located in parts of the city that are designated as protected cultural-heritage sites.Concerts at special venues

Budapest Essentials supports alternative talents instead of the artists and performers that are featured at most Hungarian festivals. This is why it brings luminaries from the local and global undergroundmusic scene to Budapest. Highlighted performers during the the three main days of the festival (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) include German hip-hop-pop-house techno producer DJ Koze, Oslo-based electro DJ Todd Terje, and Amon Tobin, the Brazilian musician, DJ, and producer who is known for his music that’s impossible to label – a fusion of jazz, drum and bass, IDM, and samba.

All of these artists and many more will play at specialurbanlocations; last year’s venues included the Várkert Bazaar, Margaret Island, and the Hungarian Railway Museum.Cultural eventsDuring the four days of the festival, anyone with a Budapest Essentials wristband can visit the most popular museums and galleries of Budapest with a 20-50% discount. With the exception of Thursday, festivalgoers can participate in two tours every day guided by the most popular tour organizing teams. If you prefer a bus or boat trip, then you can board the lines of the Hop-On Hop-Off bus and ferryboat by showing your wristband.

Budapest Spas cPlc. also joined the Budapest Essentials festival, and during the event they will provide freeentry for those with the festival wristband to one thermal bath or pool complex, as well as to the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden.Gastronomy programs30 restaurants and street-food spots citywide will also participate in Budapest Essentials. At these places, you will receive a 20% discount by showing your wristband. At the entrance of Belvárosi Disznótoros, Mazel Tov, Sao, A Séf utcája, Ramenka, My Little Melbourne Coffee, Steamboo, Buja Disznó(k), Nemo, and fekete you will definitely see the BPES sticker.
