As Budapest contends with Los Angeles, Paris, and Rome to host the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, the officially logo for Budapest’s bid was revealed to the public at a grand ceremony last week, and immediately spread worldwide through a pair of creative videos. After the Hungarian Olympic Committee joined forces with Design Terminal earlier this year to call for tenders to create the official logo in support of Budapest’s application for the 2024 Olympics, the number-one entry was finally revealed on April 14th.
Selected from nearly 200 submissions, the winning logo was presented to the public during a grand ceremony held atop Budapest’s Gellért Hill, with the new logo unveiled among a crowd of Hungary’s former Olympic champions. Created by the Graphasel Design Studio, the colorful emblem incorporates a contemporary representation of Budapest’s Liberation Monument, a symbolic depiction of water, and a modern interpretation of colorful fragments from the five Olympic rings dispersed like confetti around the logo’s central section. Now that the authorized logo is confirmed, Budapest’s application will be identified with this symbol until the International Olympic Committee officially announces the host city on September 13, 2017 in Lima, Peru.

These appealing scenes presented one after the other capture the dynamic atmosphere of Budapest from a never-before-seen angle, which will hopefully convince the Olympic Committee to choose the Magyar metropolis for the 2024 Summer Games.
