10am: “A Revolution in Art” at the Hungarian National Gallery It is exceptionally momentous for Budapest to host a major collection of Russian avant-garde art from a single museum, especially when the works in question have never been seen together before outside of Russia. The Hungarian National Gallery is proud to welcome 40 outstanding works of art from the avant-garde collection of the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, produced by such notable Russian artists as Kazimir Malevich, Wassily Kandinsky, Alexander Rodchenko, El Lissitzky, Natalia Goncharova, and Mikhail Larionov. The exhibition leads visitors through all the major movements of Russian avant-garde art from the 1910s and 1920s, while contemporary documents bring to life the stormy events of that period of history. 7pm: Senses of Sofitel at Paris Budapest Restaurant & Bar Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge is proud to introduce the Senses of Sofitel program series, taking place on each night of January 28-30. 7pm:
“MONO meets the artist” at MONO art & design“MONO meets the artist” is an experimental project of a kind, which is rooted in several inspirational sources. First and foremost the project was driven by personal motivation, the appreciation towards the designers’ products, as well as the beauty of the design process. On the other hand the initiative itself that they create their own creative PR content was one of the goals besides promoting Hungarian design at large – just as their store does. The short documentary visualizes the process of creation, celebrates the originality and quality of the products, and so does it intend to reflect the passion each of their work carries – highlighting the importance of storytelling throughout the branding. The film is also sort of an acknowledgement on the occasion of their more than one year of existence.
10pm: Rock The Friday with Viktor Király at BRKLYNViktor Király, a dear friend, visits home, so they will throw a Rock the Friday with him before he heads back to the US – because you know it already: the familiar team gets loose on Kazinczy Street week after week. DR BRS and friends, as well as BRKLYN’s members await you with party anthems, classics, and the newest music of 2016. So get prepared!
11.30pm: Pure Lust Presents – Rampue at Toldi Klub Imagine sitting on a squeaky bench in the summer, alongside a channel in Kreuzberg, outside of a nonexistent place, drinking beer – this would definitely be the music in the background. The best words to describe Rampue’s music might be emohouse and slomohouse. Positivist and punchy travel music that lets you decide whether you dance in the first row till your muscles ache or wobble with your eyes closed somewhere near the back. There were examples to both at last year’s epic Pure Lust, so it didn’t need too much consideration whether to organize another one or not.Saturday

10am: 12th Wedding Exhibition and Fair at Papp László Budapest SportArenaThe end of January is the forerunner of the ball season, and it is also the time to start preparing for the wedding season. 11am: Gardrób Community Market – Király Street at Central PassageWe all have those pieces of clothing that are not the right fit anymore, or we know we are never going to wear them again, but they are just too nice to be thrown out.
The idea is simple: you bring the clothes, bags, accessories, and other knickknacks, and the organizers will guarantee the venue and the community.
7pm: Be Seasonal – Bacon Fest at Brody StudiosYou know the saying: everything is better with bacon. Brody Studios dedicates a whole fest to our favorite snacks with dishes like candied bacon, bacon rolls with sour cream, and bacon-wrapped chicken liver with thyme. Luckily, bacon smoothies aren’t on the menu, but there are other liquid refreshers to choose from, like Peychaud’s & Old Time aromatic bitters, Johnnie Walker black label scotch, or Golden Falernum.
11pm:
Warriors: Budai, Palotai, Metha – techno special at Corvin ClubThe warriors of the capital will invade Corvin Club again on January 30th and fill up the great hall of one of the most underground clubs in town with a diverse lineup.
Warriors proved it many times that quality and getting wild can be in balance – this time it will mean a lineup of very diverse personalities. All of it in a way that creates unity in the arch of the evening as prime electronic music will be in focus.
11pm: StayFly & Tesla Present – Stardust: Larse at Tesla BudapestLarse started making music in the early ’90s, when he tried to build up a hip-hop crew with a friend where he was the DJ. This is when he started collecting records and started deejaying as well. Nowadays he is an established deep-house DJ and has been around for many years. In the past years Larse was one of the guys who approached the deep-house hype on a more commercial level with his massive hits “The More I Want” or “So Long”.
You can be sure that they will be played during his set with other house dancefloor detonators. Don’t think that you’ll leave the club before noon!
