Nearly 15,000 people marched together as part of the 20th Budapest Pride festival on Saturday. After an opening ceremony at Margaret Island, the crowd proceeded in unity from Oktogon to Buda’s Tabán district, crossing the Chain Bridge en route. Happily, the march occurred without any kind of harassment (unlike in years past), which hopefully indicates that the entire community is becoming increasingly tolerant, and that ignorance and discriminatory opinions are being replaced by equality and freedom of expression. Here are some favorite moments from this celebration of love.
