High-spirited Hungarian photographer Tamás Rizsavi is gaining a big following in Budapest for his urban photography, often taken from extreme locations like the peaks of radio towers and the tops of city bridges, with many of his photos featuring classic public-transportation vehicles. Now he is on a mission to capture the Magyar metropolis with a Huawei P8 – a new mobile phone with rather impressive picture-taking features. Let’s check out his first works of this series, all taken around Buda’s Castle District.

“The photo below was made with a slow shutter speed, with the phone’s new and unique ’light painting function. Surprisingly, the handset proved to be rather effective during the day, even though with a DSLR camera, this technique is only possible by layering multiple images under these lighting conditions. The P8 was on the stand for seven minutes, and the picture shows the blurred lights of the ships that passed by.”

“The next photo was taken in front of the Buda Castle with a timer, a tripod, and a LED lamp. The special feature of such pictures is that you have to draw a mirror image for the text to be readable on the photo.”

“The phone’s depth of field is surprisingly good compared to other phones that are currently available: in daylight, it provides the same quality of an actual camera by producing noiseless and sharp photos. In addition, the selectable focal point and the opportunity to fix it is excellent.”

“When taking the fourth photo, I realized how much easier it is to capture memorable moments with a P8 than with a compact camera. It is simple, fast, handy, and it is easy to compose pictures with it. It has many functions that can be adjusted in order to snap the best possible photo. These images, for example, were reworked with the phone’s built-in image editor.”
