In a warm gesture of heartfelt gratitude, U.S. Ambassador to Hungary Colleen Bell is bidding farewell to the country in a touching video produced by the U.S. Embassy in Budapest. She thanks the Magyars for the kindness that they have shown her during her time here, reflecting on her experiences of meeting wonderful people, enjoying the local culture, and learning about Hungary’s history. She promises to keep the country near and dear to her heart, and to share her experiences with people around the world. At the end of the video, she expresses her gratitude in perfectly pronounced Hungarian.

“Dear friends, now that my term in Hungary is coming to an end, I would like to share a few thoughts with you about my time spent in this wonderful country,” says Colleen Bell in a new post on the U.S. Embassy Budapest Facebook page, after she represented American interests in Hungary since January of 2015. With the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States on January 20th, Colleen Bell is being compelled to immediately leave her post along with many other highly regarded American diplomats worldwide. However, she is leaving in gracious style, saying goodbye with gratitude in this heartwarming and panoramic video shot on the rooftop of the Hilton Budapest in the Castle District:
