Several of Budapest’s famous thermal baths welcome everyone with tours and an abundance of varied cultural programs on Saturday, October 8th – Hungarian Bath Culture Day. The diverse programs include guided tours to hidden corners of some of the most popular spas, along with live concerts and performances, exhibitions, and many other one-of a kind experiences to submerge into.

If we would start playing an association game about Budapest, the city’s historic bath culture would probably be among the first things that come in mind – and this is what the city will celebrate on this Saturday, October 8th:

Hungarian Bath Culture Day. Many unique programs welcome guests at six baths, namely Széchenyi, Gellért, Lukács, Paskál, Király, and Rudas. During the day, you can enjoy traditional Gypsy music at Széchenyi and Rudas Baths, and then, when night falls, fire jugglers will provide brilliant entertainment by the pools, as Caribbean rhythms and operetta melodies will fill the air.

Paskál will be open until midnight on this day, and the musical late-night bathing will be spiced up with some cocktails. They are also organizing exhibitions and guided tours, so we can see the baths like never before, and we can catch a glimpse of their hidden corners. Rudas will also provide sauna programs every half hour for four hours, with the assistance of three sauna masters. To participate in these programs, prior registration is required at the baths; you can check the details (in Hungarian) here.
