The Budapest Klezmer Band opens the summer concert series, playing traditional Jewish music on July 6th at the Main Entrance Stage of the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden. A week later, celebrated musical actress Kátya Tompos takes the audience on a magical journey from the East to the West, with songs performed in English, French, Bulgarian, Russian, and Hungarian. During August, the performers include Tamás Bényei and the Gramophonia Hot Jazz Orchestra, and this melodious series is concluded by Budapest Bár’s bombastic Gypsy-music extravaganza – those who want tickets to this closing show should hurry up, because that concert usually sells out.

All of the performances start at 8:30pm, but ticketholders are welcome to enjoy special after-hours access to the zoo premises beginning at 7pm, when guests are invited for a walk around the area, while snacks and beverages are still sold in the café. Tickets to the evening shows are available for purchase every day at the zoo’s entrances or right before the concerts start. Tickets cost 3,500 forints per person, and in case of rain or unpleasant weather conditions, the passes are valid for the designated rain day.For more information visit the official website of the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, or visit jegymester.hu to purchase tickets online.
