Two friends created Budapest Sör, a traditionally fermented, high-quality beer that bears the flavor of the inimitable adventurous passion and freshness of nights out in Budapest. It might seem difficult to imagine what the city would taste like, but everything makes sense once we savor the brew. Fortunately, there are more and more places in the city where we can obtain the nice-looking bottle, decorated with Budapest’s coat of arms: supermarkets, bars, and restaurants.

After gracing hats and shirts, the name of Budapest now adorns beer bottles as well, with the recent dedication of a beer brand in honor of Hungary’s capital. Two good friends came up with the idea, both of whom had three great loves: the hustle and bustle of Budapest nights, sparkling premium beer, and Budapest girls. They wanted to condense all of these wonders into a single bottle, and since they work in the catering and beverage trade, they didn’t stop at daydreaming. Initially, only they and their friends drank the finished product, but the situation has changed since then: a few months ago, Budapest Sör officially entered the market, and is available at a growing number of locations.

The 4.9% brew is fermented in open vessels, without pressurization, which makes the final product richer and more diverse in terms of fragrance and flavor than beer fermented in closed vessels. Budapest Sör is made in small batches with a unique recipe, and after long weeks of preparation, we can drink it at Corvin Club, Bestia, Szimpla Kert, or Blue Bird Café.

The beer master believes that good quality takes time, so they don’t rush anything. The final product indeed reflects the passionate work of skilled people as a completely unique product. We’re glad that Budapest now has its own beer brand, and hope that we’ll be able to purchase it at even more places. Find out where Budapest Sör is currently available HERE.
