Good things happen outside Grand Boulevard too, and ROOTS Budapest is a great example of this. This really friendly place, that has a great hangout potential, can be found in Király Street, beyond the boulevard, where James Dean video rental shop used to be. The bar is easygoing in its interior and mentality as well, especially since we can stop by for a beer, to read, to eat a sandwich, or we can even get a tattoo – there’s a tattoo salon upstairs. As the weekend gets closer, they have musical events, with genres ranging from reggae to hip-hop. It’s especially relaxing to sit at the spots by the windows.
